W. Jordy Henson

Founder & Chairman

Jordy Henson founded GENREV in 2012 and today serves as the company’s Chairman. He is responsible for the direction of the company and focuses on opportunity pipeline, strategic growth and capital funding. Prior to founding GENREV, Jordy helmed its sister company, Solution Capital Investments (SCI) in 2007, which successfully negotiated and recapitalized more than $750 million in commercial real estate throughout the Southeast helping relationship clients in borrowers, lenders and investors find beneficial resolutions to their over-leveraged, distressed assets. Before GENREV and SCI, Jordy worked in the commercial real estate banking sector for 20 years during which time he oversaw a skilled team of professionals that originated over $1 billion annually and managed a$4+ billion CRE portfolio. Areas of oversight included traditional banking construction and term real estate products, acquisition & development lending, balance-sheet mezz/perm, REIT, senior housing & owner-user platforms, as well as a capital market & syndication/participation platform.

Jordy has been blessed in marriage to the former Kim Jaynes who now serves as Director of Family Affairs and Chairman of the Board. Together they have raised 6 kids with one super grandson (and another on the way). Jordy stays active at Shades Mountain Baptist Church where he co-teaches a weekly Bible Study, serves as Chairma of the Finance Committee, and as a Deacon. He loves people, all-thing outdoors, and specifically anything with a Roll Tide associated with it.

John G. Benner

President & Development Partner

A Partner at GENREV, John Benner is responsible for strategic planning and oversight of all new development projects. Prior to joining GENREV, John was Director of Development for Dominion Partners, where he developed institutional-quality senior housing and multi-family assets valued in excess of $100 million. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, John guides our team throughout the development process, from land acquisition to completion of construction.

John and his wife, Lana, have been married for over 30 years. They have raised two daughters who are now married and living in Birmingham. John loves being a grandfather, spending time with friends and family, worshipping at Faith Church, PCA, and cigars!

Timothy C. Gully

Retail Development Associates

Tim Gully oversees all leasing activity for GENREV. He is a Certified Senior Commercial Leasing Specialist with recognized expertise in all retail formats including enclosed malls, lifestyle centers, and open-air power and specialty centers. Tim spent 26 years as Vice President of Leasing at Colonial Properties Trust where he led leasing efforts for new developments and existing retail projects and personally generated lease values in excess of $197 million. Prior to joining GENREV, Tim was a Development Partner at Merchants Retail Partners where he executed 698,000 square feet of leases valued at over $80 million.

Tim and his wife Alyson have been married for 33 years. They have raised 3 grown boys who all live in the Birmingham area and have 2 wonderful daughters in law. They are actively involved at Shades Mountain Baptist Church and when not hosting the extended family or spending time at the lake, they enjoy being out in nature, riding bikes, hiking or relaxing around their fire pit.

Jenny DeFore

Office Administrator

Jenny DeFore serves as the Office Administrator for GENREV, bringing considerable organizational and management skills to the office. She provides the entire team with support for ongoing development projects and is responsible for accounting, budget management and day to day office operations. Jenny was an underwriter for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama before stepping away from that career to be a stay-at-home mom. Most recently, she served in the missions office at her church, Shades Mountain Baptist. Jenny and her husband Matt have been married for 32 years and have two awesome sons and daughters in love. Jenny enjoys Bible study, hiking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Lynn Garnett

Special Projects Coordinator

Lynn was previously the Office Manager for GenRev from 2011 to 2021 but has recently moved into a new role as Special Projects Coordinator. She assists the team with IT issues, development research, and any other projects outside of the day-to-day operations of the office. Her previous work experience includes community branch manager with C&S National Bank, provider development specialist for Southeast Health Plan and financial practice manager with Bridgeworth Financial Group. Lynn holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Auburn University (1987). She has been married to Mark Garnett for 32 years and they have 3 married children who all live nearby in Birmingham. They enjoy snow skiing, attending 80’s rock concerts and teaching Bible Study classes at Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
