Our Story

The Pursuit of Inspired Living

Understanding Adversity as Opportunity

Jordy Henson had the vision for GenRev Properties. Jordy found success in real estate having advised his clients through the Great Financial Crisis of 2008. After that historic downturn, he teamed with John Benner in 2016, as both men charted a new course for their professional real estate careers. The first project of significance for the team was the Canopy at Oak Mountain State Park. GenRev joined forces with WeldenField to develop this mixed-use multi-family project in North Shelby County adjacent to the Oak Mountain State Park. Battling COVID, historic spikes in lumber prices, and limetone pinnacle rock, the partnership persevered to create this centerpiece to the City of Pelham’s new entertainment district. Shockingly, towards the end of the project, the team was confronted with another major obstacle. Jordy contracted Lou Gehring’s Disease (ALS). After a faithful battle with the disease, Jordy passed away in July of 2025. GenRev honors his legacy by continuing to model Jordy’s integrity and determination by treating its relationships as its most valuable assets. We consider it a privilege to partner with others to create solid returns in the commercial real estate investment space.
